Your information
LEGAL REVIEW NEEDED. Draft stub. Not yet reviewed by a lawyer or checked against POPIA (in particular section 72 on transfers outside South Africa), the Information Officer registration with the Information Regulator, and the rules for processing children's information (sections 34–35).
- Who we are. Robot Green (robotgreen.co.za) is the responsible party for the information below. Contact: [information officer name and email to be added].
- What we collect. Names and WhatsApp numbers you give us at checkout, on a demo or when redeeming a code; your practice answers and progress; payment status from PayFast. We never see or store card details: PayFast handles payment.
- Why. To deliver the pass you bought, send the practice questions and reports you signed up for, and run the one-off parent demo you asked for. We don't sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.
- Where it's stored. Our database runs on Cloudflare D1. Cloudflare does not offer an African data location for D1, so your information is stored in the European Union (D1 EU jurisdiction) and processed by Cloudflare as our operator. We rely on POPIA section 72 for this transfer: the EU's GDPR gives protection substantially similar to POPIA, and Cloudflare is bound by its data processing terms. Demo numbers are stored only as a one-way hash plus a masked form.
- Who else sees it. Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) to deliver messages; PayFast to take payment; Cloudflare to host the service. A sponsor sees how many of its codes were used, not your answers. A parent who bought a pass for their child gets a weekly progress report.
- Children. Learners under 18 use Robot Green with the consent of the parent or guardian who bought or arranged the pass.
- How long. Progress is kept while a pass is active and for 12 months after, then deleted. Payment records are kept as long as tax law requires.
- Your rights. You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, and object to processing. Message us on WhatsApp to stop messages at any time. You may complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
